I am loved. Those were the three words engraved on the necklace my husband gave me for my February birthday last year. I am so thankful to have been loved by him for over 40 years…humbled, as I know that many people do not feel loved for so many reasons, and I certainly do not deserve that. But human love reaches only so far, and often the longing for a deeper kind of love remains…a love that freely forgives, totally accepts and touches the very soul.
I was reading about love today in the Bible. John 15:9 “As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you. Now remain in my love” (NIV). Consider this for a moment…how much did God the Father love his son? I can’t really wrap my mind around that and can’t even find the words to describe it. I know the three words “God is love” sums it up and Scripture is full of what that eternal love looks like. And He loves me in the same way? Wow!
He loves you that same way too. He wants to communicate that to you in a very personal way. This Valentine’s Day, buy yourself a chocolate heart, grab a cup of coffee, read His inspired message and know …You’re loved!
To further consider how you are loved, read from the Bible:
John 3:16 (put your name where it says “whoever”)
John 15:1-7 (Notice how many times the word “remain” is mentioned!)
I John 4:8, Psalm 136:2, 2 Thessalonians 3:5 and Jeremiah 31:3
Note: If you are not familiar with the Bible, there is an index in the front that tells you what pages the different books of the Bible are on. The New Living Bible is a modern day, easy to understand version.
